This is interesting. In the Walking Stick series, you’ll read that some Native Americans cultures believe that the eagle is the only animal that has seen the face of God. It is believed that the eagle carries prayers from earth. In Raven and the Wolf, Chewahnih believes the raven is the spirit of her mother. Raven turns out to be a messenger from God.
