Our brother was the second son of Helen and C.E. Cowen’s family of six children.  All one had to do was look into his big blue eyes to sense his zest for life.  His sense of humor often mirrored that of his father.  Of all the Cowen kids, it was often said that Al was most like his Dad in his personality, warmth, and caring heart.

He was fun to be with.  He always saw the humor in people and situations (much like his Dad).  We could laugh together and enjoy the simple pleasures of sitting on his back deck of the Galveston beach house drinking coffee and watching the sea birds glide by while his beloved cats lounged in the sun nearby.

You will be missed—dear brother!  But we look forward to a great reunion in the future!

Lovingly,
